By entering the Competition you agree to be bound by these Competition Terms & Conditions, so if you do not agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions please do not enter the Competition.
1. Introduction
1.1 This Competition is organised by ‘Laureus World Sports Awards Limited’, hereby referred to as ‘Laureus’.
1.2 Laureus reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition or these Competition Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice, including extending the closing date for entries at any time.
2 Eligibility
2.1 By entering this Competition you agree that you:
(a) are aged 18 or over or aged 18 or under and you have obtained permission from your parent/guardian before entering the Competition;
(b) have legal capacity to enter the Competition (i.e. that you are of sufficient mental capacity and are entitled to be legally bound in contract);
(c) are not an employee of Laureus;
(d) are not in the immediate family of an employee of Laureus;
(e) are not an agent or anyone professionally connected to the Competition (or an employee of them);
(f) will not be entering the Competition more than once; and
(g) are not in the immediate family of anyone that has already entered the Competition.
2.2 If you are found to have entered the Competition in breach of Clause 2.1 above you will not be entitled to receive any prize awarded to you and any prize awarded to you may be revoked (if not yet received) or returned by you (if already received).
3 Your Entry
3.1 The Competition is free to enter, no purchase is necessary and entries can only be submitted by completing the online Survey.
3.2 Only those who have fully completed the Survey will be eligible for the Competition.
3.3 By entering the Competition you agree that, should you win a prize, Laureus may make your name, country and county available on request
3.4 Laureus shall be permitted to exclude or disqualify any entrant at any time at its sole discretion.
4 Closing Date
4.1 The closing day for receipt of entries into the Competition is 5.30pm on 4 February 2009, though Laureus reserves the right to extend this closing date if insufficient responses have been gathered by this date.
4.2 Lost, delayed or incomplete entries will not be accepted and Laureus takes no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed or not received for whatsoever reason and proof of sending will not be proof of receipt.
5 Choosing the Winner
5.1 The draw will take place on 5 February 2009, though Laureus reserves the right to change this date and delay the draw if insufficient responses have been gathered by this date.
5.2 The decision of Laureus is final and will not be open to appeal or question.
5.3 If you are under 18 years old the prize will be sent to your parents or guardians.
5.4 The winners will be notified by e-mail within two weeks of the prize draw. Winners will be required to respond to the e-mail notification within two weeks. If there is no response from the winner in that time, the prize will be passed on to someone else.
5.5 If any information is reasonably requested from the competition winner by Laureus, and the winner does not contact Laureus within 21 days with such information, the prize will be forfeited.
6 The Prize
6.1 The first randomly drawn entry will receive the prize as advertised on the Laureus website and in the introduction to the Survey.
6.2 In the unlikely event that the prize should become unavailable, Laureus reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
6.3 There is no monetary equivalent or cash alternative to the prize and they are non-transferable although Laureus reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value at any time.
6.4 Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred.
6.5 All taxes, insurances, transfers, spending money and other expenses (including meals or personal expenses upgrades etc.) as the case may be that are connected with any prize are, unless specifically stated otherwise, the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
7 Liability
7.1 Laureus cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by you in entering the Competition or as a result of your accepting or making use of any prize.
